How To Migrate Woocommerce Products With Images

In this guide we will show you how to migrate WooCommerce products with images from one WordPress installation to another separate website. The procedure is really quite simple, and does not require any third party addons nor any paid addons or services!

How to Export WooCommerce Products With Images

You will complete two separate exports (and imports):

  1. Products
  2. Media

Navigate to Tools > Export

  1. Login to your wordpress website https://example.com/wp-admin
  2. Scroll down to “Tools” click it, then select “Export”

Export WooCommerce Products and WordPress Media

  1. Products – Select Tools > Export > Products > Download Export File > Save
  2. Media – Select Tools > Export > Media > Select a Date Range > Download Export File > Save

How to Import WooCommerce Products With Images

Navigate to Tools > Import

  1. Login to your wordpress website https://example.com/wp-admin
  2. Scroll down to “Tools” click it, then select “Import”

Please Note: If you have no already installed the WordPress importer, you may need to “Install Importer” before “Run Importer” option will become available. Also if you use yoast SEO or similar, install those apps before importing, as the imported product data includes the yoast data (meaning your products will stay seo optimized).

  1. Products – Select Tools > Import > Run Importer > Choose File (Select your exported products XML file) > Upload file and import (allow 15-30 mins for import to complete depending on how many products you have)
  2. Media – Select Tools > Import > Run Importer > Choose File (Select your exported media XML file) > Upload file and import (allow 30min-2hrs for import to complete depending on how many images you have)

Finished!

Congratulations! If you did the export-import correctly, then your products should display along with the product images, just like they were in your old website.
